Legacy Talent and Entertainment Announces Groundbreaking Deal for the Estate of Hollywood Icon Ava Gardner™

samanthaPress ReleasesLeave a Comment

Legacy Talent and Entertainment, LLC, is pleased to announce it has secured the exclusive, world-wide film rights to develop and produce the life story of the legendary Ava Gardner, based on her autobiography, Ava: My Story, and Mearene Jordan’s Living with Miss G.  Collectively, the books are the definitive work on Ava Gardner.

Ava My Story, Ava Gardner

Ava’s life story was made for modern times with her championing of civil rights and women’s empowerment.

Legacy Talent represents and has the exclusive, international licensing rights to the estate of Ava Gardner for all projects, partnerships, and dramatic rights. Legacy Talent has been entrusted with protecting and honoring Ava’s legacy as an iconic American actress, named one of the 25 most popular actresses of all time by the American Film Institute.

“We are proud to represent the estate of Hollywood icon, Ava Gardner, and honored to work with her heirs,” said Melinda Morris Zanoni, founder and CEO of Legacy Talent. “We are excited about securing the movie rights for Ava Gardner and could not be more thrilled about our future projects to showcase more of Ava’s timeless talent and extraordinary life.”

At the age of 18, Ava went to visit her sister in New York City. She was discovered there after a photo her brother-in-law took caught the attention of a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) executive. Her overwhelming beauty quickly landed Ava a seven-year movie contract, which eventually led her to Hollywood and international fame.

Over her 40-year career, Ava starred in numerous films, including classics like The Killers, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, and The Sun Also Rises. Ava’s performance in John Ford’s Mogambo was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress, and her role in John Huston’s The Night of the Iguana earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress and a BAFTA Award. The movie most considered the definitive Ava Gardner film is The Barefoot Contessa. With this role, Ava was billed as “the most beautiful animal in the world,” and she achieved international stardom.

In addition to her famed beauty, signature red lipstick, piercing green eyes, and millions of fans, Ava is also remembered for living life to the fullest, which included her three marriages to iconic actor Mickey Rooney, musician Artie Shaw, and the legendary Frank Sinatra.

“We are pleased to announce that the Ava Gardner Trust, through its partnership with Legacy Talent and Entertainment, will introduce Ava to a new generation. We are excited about this movie as well as other upcoming projects, and we are confident we have entrusted Ava’s legacy to the right representative. Legacy Talent’s professionalism and reputation are unparalleled in the entertainment business,” commented Ava Thompson, Ava Gardner’s Great Niece and Trustee of the Ava Gardner Trust.

Recently, Legacy Talent created and spearheaded a partnership between the Ava Gardner Trust and a distillery to develop an Ava Gardner Select Bourbon Whiskey, which launched in October, 2020.

North Carolina Distillery Partners with Ava GardnerTM Trust and Legacy Talent and Entertainment to Produce Ava Gardner Select Bourbon Whiskey

samanthaPress Releases2 Comments

Ava Gardner from The Killers

Seven Jars Distillery, a Charlotte-based business, has partnered with the Ava GardnerTM Trust and Legacy Talent and Entertainment to produce a unique Ava Gardner Select Bourbon Whiskey, which will be available for a limited release beginning on October 16, 2020.  Born on December 24, 1922 in Grabtown, North Carolina, Ava Gardner rose to international fame as an actress during a career that spanned over four decades.  Her role as Kitty Collins in the 1946 classic The Killers cemented her as the iconic symbol of the Film Noir era and her legacy as perhaps the most alluring starlet of Hollywood’s Golden Age endures to this day.

Ava Gardner’s life was characterized by her beauty and talent on the screen, but her down-to-earth approach in her personal life, coupled with her independent spirit, endeared her to generations of fans worldwide.  In many ways, she was a woman ahead of her time; not afraid to speak her mind, not one to follow the “status quo,” and not afraid to buck the system.  The Ava Gardner Select Bourbon Whiskey reflects much of this character – smooth and flavorful, with just the right amount of “kick!”

“I know that Ava is pleased to have her own whiskey,” said Ava Thompson,  Ava Gardner’s Great Niece and Trustee of the Ava Gardner Trust.  “She always enjoyed top-shelf whiskey, and so our agents at Legacy Talent approached Seven Jars Distillery about a partnership.  The result was not only a premium whiskey that deserves Ava’s brand, but a way for us to continue to bring amazing bourbon to Ava’s fans worldwide while creating a rare, keepsake memento at the same time.”

The bourbon bearing Ava Gardner’s name will be released as a 101-proof whiskey on October 16th, 2020.  The limited release of 3,600 bottles will be packaged in individual boxes, each bearing the image of Ava Gardner in the role of Kitty Collins from The Killers.  Additional releases will be available in the future, with each bearing different images of Ava Gardner and each having a unique flavor profile.

“The opportunity to work with the brand of a Hollywood legend like Ava Gardner is a dream come true for us,” said Del Ratcliffe, Managing Partner of Seven Jars Distillery. “Our goal with Seven Jars Distillery has always been to tell the story of our parents, while sharing some really great spirits.  They both adored Ava Gardner, and the synergy between Ava’s story, her history, and our heritage here at Seven Jars is remarkable.”

“We are proud to represent a timeless icon like Ava Gardner and privileged to work with her heirs,” said Melinda Morris Zanoni, founder and CEO of Legacy Talent. “We are excited about this partnership, not only for Ava’s millions of fans, but also to present the Ava Gardner legacy to a new audience through our friends at Seven Jars, who have been incredible to work with throughout this entire collaboration!”

*Distribution of the first release of the Ava Gardner Select Bourbon Whiskey will primarily be in North Carolina, but other markets will have limited availability.  Fans of Ava Gardner who are interested in obtaining one of the limited release bottles can find out more by visiting www.sevenjarsdistillery.com

33,000 young drivers trained

Now in its tenth year, the charity that Doug Herbert founded to honor his sons has reached more than 60,000 teens and parents from 43 different states and five countries

Teens who graduate from B.R.A.K.E.S. are 64 percent less likely to be in a crash in their first three years of driving
2018 schedule includes 38 schools and is expected to reach up to 12,000 drivers

Concord, N.C., August 1, 2018 – Doug Herbert founded B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe) to ensure that the lives of his sons Jon and James would make a difference. Ten years after their fatal car crash, the charity that they inspired has brought free, lifesaving defensive driver training to more than 33,000 teens across the country. Including parents, the GuideStar Platinum-rated 501(c)(3) non-profit has reached more than 60,000 drivers from 43 different states and five countries – and expects to add 12,000 more in 2018.

“Car crashes are the number-one cause of death among teens, but I never knew that until Jon and James became part of those statistics,” said Herbert, a multi-time Top Fuel drag racing champion who stepped away from his on-track career to pursue a mission of preventing injuries and saving lives by training teens and their parents to be safer behind the wheel. “We started small, training the boys’ classmates in hopes that we could spare other families from having to go through such a horrible experience. After that, it just took on a life of its own, and we’ve grown every year since.”

Now in its tenth year, B.R.A.K.E.S. will host 38 schools during 2018, including first-time visits to Jefferson City, Missouri, and Topeka, Kansas, as well as return visits to locations across the Southeast, Midwest and Southern California.

For more information, including a complete schedule of events, and to register for a school, please visit www.putonthebrakes.org.

Advanced Driver Training

B.R.A.K.E.S. is NOT Driver’s Ed. It is a FREE, hands-on, advanced driver training program taught by professional instructors, including current and former members of law enforcement, professional racers and stunt drivers. B.R.A.K.E.S. maintains a low three-to-one student-to-instructor ratio to maximize educational effectiveness.

Each weekend B.R.A.K.E.S. school includes four identical sessions to allow parents and teens to pick one that will fit into their busy schedules. Each session includes four hours of training, starting with a short, 45-minute classroom presentation followed by nearly three hours behind the wheel of new Kia vehicles.

Courses include distracted driving awareness, panic braking, drop-wheel/off-road recovery, crash avoidance and car control/skid recovery – all of the biggest causes of crashes for new drivers. Other educational elements often include ‘Big Rig’ safety, first responder vehicle extrication demonstration, and what to do in the event of a traffic stop.

About B.R.A.K.E.S.
Doug Herbert’s B.R.A.K.E.S. B.R.A.K.E.S. was founded in 2008 after Top Fuel drag racer Doug Herbert lost his two young sons, Jon and James, in a tragic car crash. Today, more than 30,000 teens from 43 different states and five countries – and their parents – have graduated from the B.R.A.K.E.S.’ intensive half-day training course, which is free of charge and features hands-on skills exercises taught by professional instructors in a fleet of new vehicles donated by Kia Motors America.

Giants Sign Former Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart to Two-Year Deal

legacytalentPress ReleasesLeave a Comment

The Giants will sign former Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart to a two-year deal, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The deal is reportedly worth up to $8.4 million and includes $2.95 million in guarantees.

Stewart, 30, is Carolina’s all-time leading rusher and managed 680 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 2017, but his 3.4 yards per carry was the lowest total of his 10-year career.

The Giants were 26th in rushing offense last season (96.8 yards per game), when Orleans Darkwa and Wayne Gallman carried the brunt of the workload. Darkwa is an unrestricted free agent.

New York owns the second pick in the upcoming draft, and there is belief that the Giants are seriously considering picking former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with the pick, should the Browns pass on him with the top selection.

A first-round pick out of Oregon in 2008, Stewart has made one Pro Bowl (2015) and has 7,318 rushing yards and 51 rushing touchdowns for his career.
